Iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin has been the voice of REO Speedwagon since the‘70s. He initially joined the band recording the R.E.O./T.W.O. album in 1972, but after a brief period away, returned in 1976 and remained their frontman until their final tour in 2024.
With Cronin at the mic, the band's relentless drive, continuous touring, and prolific recording helped ignite the burgeoning rock movement in the Midwest. This era yielded platinum albums and FM radio staples like “Ridin’ The Storm Out,” paving the way for the platinum-plus You Can Tune a Piano, but You Can’t Tuna Fish, and the band’s landmark release, Hi Infidelity (1980). This Grammy-nominated album, now RIAA Diamond Award-certified for 10 million units sold in the U.S., which spent 15 weeks at No. 1 and produced massive hit singles such as “Keep On Loving You” and “Take It On the Run, “remains a pinnacle achievement.
Over his career with REO Speedwagon, Cronin has contributed to the band’s remarkable success, selling 22 million albums in the U.S. and 40 million worldwide, including a string of nine consecutive platinum-plus albums and numerous international hit singles. He has personally written many of their most beloved songs, including the No. 1 hits "Keep on Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling, plus “Roll With the Changes," "Time for Me to Fly," "Don't Let Him Go," “In My Dreams,” and many more.
His career highlights include performances at Live Aid, back-to-back sold-out shows at the Houston Astrodome, New Orleans Superdome, Tokyo’s Budokan Arena, and five sold-out nights at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheater. More recently, in 2023, Cronin collaborated with Dolly Parton on a duet of his hit “Keep On Loving You” for her Rockstar album.
